Terms of Service - Washington Car Hire Services
Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals with Car Hire are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your responsibilities for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle in Washington
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Washington, you must be at least 21 years old, though age requirements may vary by vehicle type, with potential extra charges for drivers under 25. A valid driving license suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with proof of identification and current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit are also necessary. Please refer to the Rental Agreement for any additional criteria.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or at our Washington office. To confirm your booking, a deposit may be necessary. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in US Dollars ($) and include applicable taxes. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection of the car and report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed at this point. Upon return, the vehicle should be in the same condition as when it was collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges applied accordingly. Ensure that the fuel level matches what was provided at the start of your rental; refueling fees will be incurred if the vehicle is returned with less fuel. Late returns may attract additional fees, so please inform us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, plus an administrative fee.
5. Insurance and Liability in Washington
- Basic third-party insurance is included with every rental in Washington. Detailed information about coverage and excess amounts is outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on your booking type and the notice given. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations and no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Uses in Washington
Prohibited Vehicle Uses in Washington
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is strictly prohibited. Engaging in racing, off-roading, or similar dangerous pursuits is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials or substances is forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is unacceptable. Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is prohibited. Vehicles must not be used for purposes they are not designed for, and passenger or weight limits must not be exceeded. Travel outside designated geographical areas requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
8. Liability Limitations in Washington
To the fullest extent allowed under Washington law, Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent activities.
